Fresh drive

The consortium met with new faces at ika to discuss the future of the BaLSaM project.

Topics discussed at the meeting included the upcoming measurement campaigns on the ika test track. The measurements will focus on tyre/road noise. In addition, various AVASs are to be measured, an acoustic vehicle awareness system of an electric car for other road users.

Full of enthusiasm, the consortium is now agreeing on a schedule for the measurement campaigns and is looking forward to reporting on this.

Requirements

Quiet city centres and motorways - something that all residents of a district want.

The consortium met at the IHTA to discuss the challenges of quiet road traffic. In particular, various measurement methods and standardised procedures for tyre/road noise were exchanged. The aim was to determine requirements for the measurement methodology being developed for tyre-road noise and to identify the challenges of current methods.
